South Shore

The boundaries of South Shore are 67th Street, 79th Street, Stony Island Avenue and Lake Michigan. More than $125 million in reinvestment money has been pumped into the neighborhood by South Shore Bank and its lending subsidiaries.

Two public golf courses abut the neighborhood. South Shore Country Club, directly on the lakefront, has a freshly renovated nine-hole course, and Jackson Park offers a full 18-hole golf course with caddie services available.

Transportation
Many residents ride CTA buses and rapid transit or commuter trains to jobs in the Loop. Metra trains stop in Hyde Park, Kenwood and South Shore. CTA Howard-Dan Ryan trains stop at Garfield Boulevard and 63rd Street at State Street. Residents of both communities have easy access to Lake Shore Drive.
