First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit

On July 30, 2008, a major housing bill was signed into law providing a new, temporary tax credit for first-time home buyers. The $7,500 credit will be available for the purchase of a principal residence on or after April 9, 2008 and before July 1, 2009. For more information, check with your First Sterling Mortgage Services Loan Officer or click to read the First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit FAQ that was put together by NAR. The official website for the program is: www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com. Obviously, clients should check with their tax advisor for specifics.
